2008 Quilt Show Entry Form

Only DMAQG Members may enter Quilts in our show.  Please use one of the links below to enter your quilt.  You'll need one form for each quilt.  Quilt Drop-off information will be published in September.

There is a $5 per quilt judging fee this year.  You must turn in this fee by July 15th.  You may include this fee with your registration when you mail it (Must be postmarked by July 15 or your quilt(s) WILL NOT be judged), or you may pay this fee at the May or June meetings if you register your quilts online.  If payment is not received, your quilt will not be judged.

Entry deadline is Tuesday - July 15, 2008

• Quilt Entry - Online Registration After registering (click the submit form button), you'll get a confirmation page to print out.  Please print out the confirmation page.

• Quilt Entry form - Word Document (.doc)  (1 page, 52 KB) Use the "File - Save As" menu item to save the file on your computer.  Then you may type in the information in this document, save it, and print it.  Either drop it off at a guild meeting (May or June), or send it to the address listed on the bottom portion of the word document form.  Please remember to include any judging fees.

We expect over 400 quilt entries.  Please print legibly, type, or use the online registration.

2008 Quilt Show Category Information:

One person vs. Two or more person:

• One-person quilt:  any quilt completely constructed by only one person.  All work may be done by hand or machine. 

• Two or more-person quilt:  any quilt that two or more people worked on, in any way, during the construction, quilting or finishing.  This includes quilting done for hire.  All work may be done by hand or by machine.

Quilt Type:

• Miniature:  any quilt with a circumference of 80” or less that reflects a true proportionately-reduced scale version of a large quilt.  It may be pieced or appliquéd. 

• Pictorial:  any quilt that depicts a person, place, thing or scene in a realistic or abstract manner.  It may include piecing, any type of appliqué or embellishment, as well as any abstract quilting or techniques not included in any other category.  All work may be done by hand or by machine.

• Traditional:  any quilt that is predominantly pieced and based on traditionally style patterns and sets.  All work may be done by hand or machine.

• Non-Traditional:  any quilt that is constructed with non-traditional techniques.  It may include mixed techniques as long as one of the techniques is non-traditional (fused or raw edge appliqué, painting embellishment or other surface design elements).  All work may be done by hand or machine.

• Appliqué:  any quilt using appliqué as the predominant construction technique.  It may be hand or machine appliquéd. 

• Friendship:  multiple quilt entries using similar theme, pattern or design and made by members of a group as a group project.  Quilts entered in the Friendship category will not be judged but will be hung together. 

• First Quilt: first quilt made and entered in a show (any size).
• Whole Cloth: a quilt constructed by hand or machine quilting on a single piece of fabric.
• Clothing/Miscellaneous: quilted clothing or anything that doesn’t fit in other categories (pillows, table runners, dolls, etc).
• Challenge: any quilt entered into this year's guild challenge, organized by the Directors at Large.
• Junior Membership Quilt: any quilt made by a junior guild member (under 18).

Quilt Size:

The entry deadline of July 15 will be strictly enforced. If entries are not received by this date, the quilt will not be displayed. The same is true for judging fees. If you want your quilt(s) to be judged, the $5 per quilt fee must also be received by this date in order to be judged.
