Semiannually, DMAQG hosts retreat opportunities for its members. The retreats are traditionally held from 9:00 a.m. on Thursday morning through 2:00 p.m. on Sunday afternoon at Camp Wesley Woods, a Methodist church camp near Indianola, Iowa.

Retreat fees include an area to set up for non-stop cutting, sewing, piecing and quilting, as well as adequate electrical and ironing board access. All meals and sleeping accommodations (usually two to four to a room) are included, though quilters must bring bedding, towels and toiletries. Quilting discussions are free, lively and copious!

Attendees can enjoy sharing their love of fabric and quilting while indulging in munchies (A.K.A. chocolates) and uninterrupted sewing time. Quilters work on their own projects,  with plenty of time to meet and get to know other quilters.

Mark your calendar for upcoming DMAQG retreats:

April 19 - 22, 2012 -  Spring Retreat

Registration will open at the February 28, 2012 guild meeting. The form will be available on-line after the guild meeting.

Work on your own projects, sleep if/when you want.  A late breakfast and early supper are served.  Usually 2 8'x8' tables have an assortment of munchies (salty, sweet, chocolate, and healthy). Need a break?  Walk down to Lake Ahquabi, or sign up for a massage, or see what others are working on.  Need some advice on a project?  There are always a few quilters willing to throw in their 2 cents.  This is a great opportunity to accomplish a lot in just one weekend.  See your newsletter for sign-up information a couple of months before the retreat. Contact the Retreat Coordinator Arda Mathern or Margaret Simons with any questions.
