Welcome to our website! The Des Moines Area Quilters guild is a friendly, talented and diversified group of about 500 quilters and quilt artists who have been sharing quilts, talent, friendship and knowledge since 1983. There are monthly meetings, most of them with announcements. special speakers, show and tell, and refreshments following the meeting. We have annual quilt shows, two retreats per year, guild challenges, newcomer meetings, and community service projects. We also have a vast assortment of reading materials in our library for our members. If you are interested in quilting, please join us the fourth Tuesday of the month at either 1:00P.M or 7:00P.M for our Guild Meeting. Please join us!

On November 18, 2011, Des Moines Area Quilters Guild (DMAQG) presented 179 quilts made by members of the DMAQG to the Community Living Center (CLC) at the VA Medical Center in Des Moines. Approximately 150 veterans are served by the Community Living Center in the domicilliary, pallative, respite and hospice care (residential or in-patient) programs. Members of DMAQG made enough quilts so that each veteran will receive a quilt for their bed or to use as a cover when in their wheelchair. Additional quilts will be kept by the VA for future CLC veterans. Some of these quilts were exhibited in a special display during the American Quilters Society (AQS) Quilt Expo in October.
